Pirelli P Zero System Tire
Pirelli P Zero System Tire Review
Option 1. Asymmetric Front and Rear
Setup (left tire on all 4 wheels)
This setup is best for dry surface performance at high speeds but not good in the rain. Good option for cars with medium to narrow section front tires and is a must for front-engine front-wheel and four-wheel drive cars.

Option 2. Directional Front (right tires on the front 2 wheels) and Asymmetrical Rear
(left tire on the back 2 wheels)
This setup is best for mid- or rear-engine cars as well as front engine or rear-drive axle cars with wide wheels and tires for high-speed use in both wet and dry conditions.

Pirelli P Zero System Tire Review
Performance Summer Tire

UTQG Rating    Treadwear  140     Traction  A     Temperature  A

The Pirelli P Zero System comes with a couple of different options depending on your vehicle and also whether you want better traction in the rain. Please see the two different options and descriptions on the left.

The P Zero System tires were originally designed for high performance cars such as Ferrari, Porsche, and Aston Martin. Both tires contain twin steel belts reinforced with nylon cap plies which provide great traction and steering response.

Tested:
Option 2 with directional front tires and asymmetrical rear tires. When tested on the dry track, the tires gripped the road incredibly well when driven aggressively and cornering at high speeds. The tires had relatively low noise and a smooth ride when going over bumps and potholes (for a low profile tire).

In wet conditions the tires performed well too, and gripped when cornering hard. When toggling back and forth between cones on the wet track the tires did slip a bit, but regained traction. This test is designed to simulate a quick maneuver that you would encounter in an emergency situation when swerving to avoid something in the road.

When taken over a large shallow puddle to test hydroplaning resistance that tires provided excellent traction and did not slip. The circumferential grooves that go around the perimeter of the tire help channel out water to prevent hydroplaning, and it works.
The Good:
- Handling and Steering Response
- Dry Traction and Wet Traction
- Low noise and smooth ride

The Bad:
- Tread wears quickly
(to be expected for performance tires)

Conclusion:
If you are looking for a performance tire with great steering response and traction, the P Zero provides just that. This tire gives the driver unparalleled handling and cornering, even when pushed aggressively. With two different options you also have the flexibility of a setup that is best suited for your vehicle. Prices range from about $300 to $500 per tire depending on size, which is pretty expensive for tires in this category.

Out of 5 possible points:

Dry Traction  4.9
Wet Traction  4.8

Hydroplaning Resistance  4.7
Steering Responsiveness  4.9

Ride Comfort  4.8
Noise Level  4.6
