Michelin Premier A/S Tire Review
High Performance All Season Tire

Picture
There are good reasons why so many tires use Michelin as a benchmark. Michelin has reached the pinnacle of success in the tire market and the roly-poly Bibendum has been smiling down on consumers since 1889. Michelin is more secretive about its tire manufacture procedures than KFC and its famous 11 herbs and spices.

And fortunately for Michelin and the rest of us as well, when the Nazis invaded France, Michelin managed successfully to kid the Nazis along and never did give them any really useful information about the manufacture of tires.

Michelin’s newest model, the Premier A/S, replacing the older Primacy MXV4, perfectly shows this dedication to offering only the best.

Built for all types of vehicles, coupes, sedans, crossovers and minivans, this tire boasts never before seen cutting edge technology in the tread that has been designed to provide the highest and best all-season performance available to consumers today.

Michelin’s new EverGrip safety technology composed of a silica and sunflower oil tread is a real game changer guaranteed to deliver the long lasting wet traction every driver wants and needs. The rain grooves, as the tire wears, open and formerly hidden new grooves appear and expand through new technology to keep the vehicle steady with the ability to add even more grip. The result is a tire that brakes and performs like new, right up until it’s time to re-tire our vehicle (pun intended :).

Adding sunflower oil into the tread compound combined with additional sipes, (channels in the tread of a time that help to improve its grip), around the tire provide biting edges enhancing traction even on snow and ice, having the ability to keep the tread more pliable than ever before in extremely cold temperature.

Invisible to the eye, the inside of the tire contains twin steel belts with a polyester cord body ensuring additional strength and durability. The Premier A/S is available in a wide range of sizes from 15 to 18 inches and in H or V-speed ratings, Michelin also includes a 60,000-mile warranty in its package.

Pros:
Solid dry traction and cornering stability
Excellent wet grip
Latest Michelin tire technology
Gives a very smooth and comfortable ride

Cons:
Actually, we could find nothing that really stands out as a negative.

Conclusion:
While it is true that Michelin tires can be among the most expensive models over some of their competitors, the fact is, as usual, you get what you pay for. In exchange for its high cost, this new Premier A/S gives you real quality and peace of mind.

In rainy climates, you’ll love this new EverGrip technology built into the tire. It is truly a game changer. Testing by Michelin has shown that even as this tire wears, it continues to provide solid braking performance - more than other leading tires.

The ride on these tires is excellent and road noise is lower than that of the MXV4 and we thought that was very good.

Overall, with Michelin’s great reputation, the Premier A/S only offers more proof that Michelin is a leader in the cutting-edge manufacture of premium tires. This is a solid and dependable new touring all-season tire that ranks right up there as best in class. Highly recommended.

Price Range:

Michelin Premier A/S prices range from approximately $116 and up, depending on size. You may occasionally find rebates, discount prices coupon offers if you keep your eyes open. Michelin frequently has $70 rebates, which you can check here.

Warranty:
Michelin guarantees a 6-year of 60,000-mile tread warranty on the Premier A/S. Tire uniformity is guaranteed as well for the first year or the first 2/32 inch of wear.

Materials and workmanship also carry a 6-year warranty and include free replacement during the first year or the first 2/32 inch of wear. A prorated amount is given for the remaining time period or down to the final 2/32 inch of tread depth.

Michelin also offers a 3-year flat tire changing service and a 30-day customer satisfaction guarantee.
