The Pilot Exalto A/S is Michelin's entry level Performance All Season tire designed to give great traction and responsiveness in dry, wet, and light snow conditions.
This tire features a directional tread design composed of Michelin's special all season silica which balances performance and long tread life. On the inside this tire contains BAZ technology which is special spirally wrapped reinforcement to help the tire keep its structure at high speeds.
This tire ranked #1 out of 19 tires in the high performance all season tire category, when customers were surveyed and asked about 12 different performance factors such as traction, comfort, and treadwear. Tested: When taken over puddles at high speeds and turning slightly following a curve in the road the tire did not hydroplane. When driven aggressively in wet conditions the tire performed well, but did slip a bit when pushed hard. Dry traction and cornering when taken on fun curvy roads was solid and right up to par for a performance tire. When tested in light snow, deep snow, and ice this tire did great for an all season tire. Not until driven in the most severe conditions did the tread start to give out a bit. In dry, wet, and snow the tire made very little road noise and provided a smooth ride.
Conclusion:
When customers say they purchase this tire again and again, I can see why. It is a great tire when pushed to the limit in almost all conditions. It has great traction, steering response, and the tread lasts a long time. This tire comes with a 6 year / 45,000 mile warranty from Michelin, but I expect it would last longer than that given you have fairly normal driving habits. Tire Sizes (May vary depending on vendor)
