The ContiSportContact 2 is a high performance summer tire with great wet and dry traction, but not meant to be driven in the snow or on ice.
This tire scored well on the track when tested for dry and wet traction, steering response, and hydroplaning resistance. When cornering hard the tire gripped the road well and the tire was very responsive when toggling back and forth. Ride comfort was average when encountering bumps in the road or pot holes, and the noise level was about normal as well. Braking traction and acceleration were very good as expected from a summer tire such as this. |
The Good:
- Steering and handling is very good - Great wet and dry traction |
The Bad:
- No traction for ice / snow (Normal for a performance summer tire) |
Conclusion:
The ContiSportContact 2 is a good performing summer tire that has been around for a while. It is a great all around tire but did not perform as well as the Continental ExtremeContact DW or Bridgestone Potenza RE050A in tests. The ContiSportContact 2 ranges from about $100 to $400 per tire depending on size which can be quite a bit less expensive than the new versions.
